Conversations with Deep Thinkers: David Miller

COSEBOC is proud to announce David C. Miller, M.Ed., as our esteemed speaker in our 2021 educational teleconference series, Conversations with DeepThinkers. This series aims to deepen and strengthen educators’ and advocates’ capacity dedicated to the affirmative development of boys and young men of color.

This vital conversation, “Representation Matters,” will explore diversity in children’s books and the power of exposing young males of color to empowering text with culturally relevant themes.

According to the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education Cooperative Children’s Book Center 2018, only 15% of children’s books were written by African Americans or Latinx authors.

Conversations with Deep Thinkers is a powerful forum for learning and inquiry. In these 45 min teleconference calls, Ron Walker engages prominent leaders in an inquiry focused on Boys and Young Men of Color. These conversations are followed by Q&A inviting audience participation.
