E-Book Available - "A Call for Change: Providing Solutions for Black Male Achievement"

In 2011, the Council of the Great City Schools commissioned a series of solution briefs from some of the nation's leading scholars and experts to identify an effective set of strategies to address the academic needs of African American males. COSEBOC authored one of those solution briefs highlighting the opportunities for schools to increase their effectiveness with African American boys by using the Standards and Promising Practices.

The Council of the Great City Schools has released a compilation of those papers as an e-book. The solutions outlined in each paper focus on both educational and noneducational strategies, such as expectations and self esteem, early-childhood programs, college and career readiness, gifted and talented education, mathematics instruction, English language arts instruction, partnerships and mentoring, successful learning communities, out-of-school-time learning, health and safety, and the school-to-prison pipeline.

The e-book is available for download on iTunes (iBook), Barnes and Noble (Nook), and Amazon (Kindle). It is also available as a pdf.
