Wednesday, June 1, 2016 - 9:00am to Thursday, June 2, 2016 - 3:00pm
Location:
Jackson, MS | MS e-Center, Jackson State University
On June 1-2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., COSEBOC will host a special, two-day Gathering for educators as part of the Mississippi Leadership Academy (MLA) at Jackson State University E-Center. The MLA Gathering is part of our ongoing work in Mississippi funded by the W. K.
Join the #COSEBOC10 team and select speakers and presenters on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:30PM, for "Framing the Narrative for Boys of Color": A Pre-Gathering Chat, before our big, in-person chat in May! During this Twitter-based conversation, learn why the 2016 Gathering of Leaders comes at such a pivotal time in our country and who will lead the charge.
Each holiday season, many of us attend beautiful gala events - some for good causes. To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color invites you to skip the gala and instead contribute precious resources to support our work of educating teachers and school leaders to more effectively work with boys and young men of color. We've set a goal of $10,000 by December 31st.
60 Washington Square South, Room 914 and 912, 9th floor New York, NY 10012
COSEBOC and ESI in partnership: At ESI we have learned that critical conversations about race, class and gender can support and encourage administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, social workers and all staff to create learning and nurturing environments where all students have sufficient opportunities to achieve. Beginning on December 16th, we will host forums where we will come together to examine and to discuss issues of culture as it intersects with race, class and gender.
