On Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 4pm EST, COSEBOC is proud to announce Ivan Jackson as our 2nd speaker in our 2019-20 educational teleconference series, Conversations with Deep Thinkers. The goal of this series is to create, deepen and strengthen the capacity of educators and advocates dedicated to the affirmative development of boys and young men of color.

Conversations with Deep Thinkers is a powerful forum for learning and inquiry. In these one-hour teleconference calls, Ron Walker engages prominent leaders in an inquiry that is focused on COSEBOC's 2020 theme: Young Kings of Color: Learning from the Footprints of the Past, Taking Footsteps to the Future. These conversations are followed by a Q&A inviting audience participation. 

While anyone can sign up to participate in this video/teleconference - thanks to the generous support of COSEBOC sponsors - ONLY COSEBOC members are eligible to receive a recording of this video/teleconference upon request at no charge. Video / Teleconference: Ivan JacksonBio: Mr. Ivan Jackson

Mr. Jackson is a proud graduate of Eagle Academy for Young Men and native of The Bronx, New York. He now serves as Alumni Affairs Coordinator for Eagle Academy. He credits his dedication to serving underserved communities to his early experiences growing up in The Bronx  and attending The Learning Tree Cultural Preparatory School and The Eagle Academy for Young Men. Mr. Jackson has always been steadfast about the impact poverty has on students of color. He argues that there are some invaluable lessons that hardship and poverty offers up that qualifies members of those communities to be Civic Leaders. Mr. Jackson’s life work is dedicated to helping students of color realize their roles as social, cultural, and intellectual leaders through Mentorship, Leadership Development, and Civic Engagement. He is a true advocate for positive urban youth identity development and seeks to be the pebble that ripples the pond for communities of color everywhere.
