Learn about COSEBOC’s long standing tradition of engaging and empowering boys and young men of color through “Rites of Passage” programs, culminating with two innovative courses: D.R.U.M. (Discovering Rituals, Understanding Manhood) and Footprints.
The architects and instructors of these two courses will describe how the programs prepare teams of adults to become trained facilitators in their own communities. The panelists will share their personal and professional experiences using hip hop pedagogy, ritual, and memory to help boys and young men of color find their voice and affirm their social, emotional, and cultural identity.

The goal of Conversations with Thought Leaders is to strengthen the capacity of educators and advocates dedicated to the affirmative development of boys and young men of color. These free, virtual conversations provide an opportunity to learn and engage with prominent leaders in an inquiry focused on boys and young men of color. Our guests will be joined by Ron Walker and other members of the COSEBOC team.
