The Inaugural COSEBOC Student Innovator Awards

Announced as a pilot for 2017, the COSEBOC Student Innovator Awards will be given to high school youth from Texas that embody our 2017 theme (Boys and Young Men of Color: Innovators, Creators & Game Changers), whose contributions have been both visible and impactful, and whose acts and deeds of service have sought to make their world a better place. 

The Student Innovator Awards are specifically tailored to male students of color (African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, Native American, and Multiracial) enrolled in grades 9-12 in a Texas district, charter, alternative, vocational/technical, faith-based, or private school. 

Awardees Will: 

  • Receive a $1,000 scholarship
  • Be honored at the 2017 COSEBOC Awards Breakfast during the Gathering of Leaders in April in Austin
  • Participate in the two-day Young Men's Passage and a post-event, direct service opportunity
  • An additional $1,000 scholarship if they decide to attend Huston-Tillotson University awarded by the university
