COSEBOC is pleased to announce our featured speakers for the 13th Annual Gathering of Leaders:

  • Dr. Michael Lindsey is a noted scholar in the field of child and adolescent mental health and a leading researcher on generational poverty and inequality. He serves as Executive Director of the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research and as Professor of Poverty Studies in the NYU Silver School of Social Work.
  • Shawn Ginwright, PhD, is an author, activist, and leading expert on African American youth, youth activism, and youth development. He serves as Associate Professor of Education in the Africana Studies Department and Senior Research Associate for the Cesar Chavez Institute for Public Policy at San Francisco State University.
  • Valencia Clay is an author and national expert on empowering urban youth through art-integrated education. She serves as a humanities and literacy instructor at the Baltimore Design School, an Adjunct Professor in critical literacies at the Maryland Institute College of Arts, and a Fellow for the National Geographic Society.

These speakers will be addressing the theme of this year's Gathering -- Boys & Young Men of Color: Ready to Learn, Honored to Serve, Destined to Lead.
